ALBANY, N.Y. (WCAX) - The New York state budget deadline has been extended again until Thursday, as lawmakers grapple with spending concerns and potential changes to federal funding.

The Tuesday morning deadline passed with the state Legislature failing to agree on policy changes.

Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul has proposed a budget ranging from $250 billion to $265 billion for 2026.

Lawmakers are aiming to pass the budget by the end of this week.
